During the installation of oracle 12c ,i faced the issue that installation got stuck at 54% and after running for more than 5 to 6 hours have to cancel the operation.

The solution to this Error is simply when you are unzipping the folders unzip at one common folder as i have done
You will find components folders as shown below
D:\softwares\12coracle\winx64_12102_database_1of2\database\Components
D:\softwares\12coracle\winx64_12102_database_2of2\database\stage\Components
Please try to read the log details as shown in screenshot above,its showing the path where installation log are being created. The location was C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs \installActions2016-01-26_01-50-16AM.
After going through the logs i found that,In my case it was not able to find the files at below path during the installation
D:\softwares\12coracle\winx64_12102_database_1of2\database\stage\Components\oracle.rdbms\12.1.0.2.0\1\DataFiles
Because there was other unzipped part as shown below and it was unable to get the files at abovepath Hence i copied all the file from below path to the above path location
D:\softwares\12coracle\winx64_12102_database_2of2\database\stage\Components\oracle.rdbms\12.1.0.2.0\1\DataFiles
I ran the whole installation again and folks it completed in overall 55 mins the overall installation with the plugable and container database configuration itself.
Hope ….it will work for everyone ,As this was the issue where HKEY registry updating is getting hung ..

Copy at this location Components\oracle.rdbms\12.1.0.2.0\1\DataFiles

hey i am installing orale 12c release 2 and there in only one zip folder then too i am having this problem. what should i do. i am really pissed off with this since days.
Kindly chk the folders after you unzip that .the extracts may have different multiple files & folders check the log what its upto.

we have to put the part2-of2 extract files of database/stage/components/ inside the part1-of2 extract folder in database/stage/components/ so that while it’s installing the 12c it will take the appropriate reference.

I have successfully installed OBIEE 12c with db 12c and fusion. Now my system with windows 10 is running ver slow. I hav Dell with 2.4 ghz and 4 gb ddr4 ram. I cannot practice with this slow running. Is there any way to fine tune? If nothing couild be done, please suggest me a immediate lower version of OBIEE with suitable db and middleware.

Hi shridhar ji great u got it successfully installed, yes the RAM is quite low u may need 8GB RAM, and u can do one thing whenever u want to work at that time just enable all the services else disable it bcoz if its all enabled while ur laptop start then also it gets slow.
Also i will suggest to increase it virtually so it can help u a bit, and u rbusing upgraded version thats a greatest part i wont suggest for lower version.

Thanks for your immediate reply. I will upgrade the RAM now. But I have new dell inspiron 5559 i5 processor 2.3o ghz and how will I know whether it is ddr3 or ddr4. More over we have to match bus speed of the existing one.
Also please let me know which one i.e. obiee 12c or 11.1.1.7.1 is prospective for employment.

The RAM will be DDR4 i suppose , and i guess you can take to the DELL center they can properly guide you up and upgrade it, it wont cost more than 3K , employment perspective both are fine but yes we must go with the latest enhanced versions also we must know the new features which came in new releases.For the time being you can increase Memory virtually
go to -> system properties -> advance -> performance -> Advanced -> virtual memory -> from automatic change to custom and increase that MB size.

I have successfully installed OBIEE 12c and ran a report after creating a datamodel. Now I hav a problem. While logging sqlplus it was asking userid and password. I gave them as i created while installing oracle db. Please tell me how to know the userid and password.
Do we need to install oracle BI developer tool? If yes, how to install them.
I am starting the server manually. Is there any short cut to place it on desktop?

During installation or after installation u might have created any database ,kindly give name og that dataset,or if its asking then give name and go ahead in creating it.

I copied all the files from zip 2 component folder to zip 1 and restarted the installation but its stuck at registry key as the same. Checked the details tab. Nothing.
